Privacy Policy

WakeSpeed ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the WakeSpeed iOS app.

1. Information We Collect

WakeSpeed is designed to work entirely on your device. We do not operate servers, collect analytics, or transmit your personal data to third parties.

Data stored locally on your device includes:

• Location data — GPS coordinates, speed readings, and route traces recorded during sessions.
• Session records — Date, duration, activity type, speed statistics, and notes you add.
• Photos — Images you choose to attach to sessions, stored via Apple's PhotoKit.
• Rider profiles — Names, stance preferences, and optional contact links you create.

All data is stored in SwiftData on your device and optionally backed up via iCloud if you have iCloud backup enabled for the app.

2. How We Use Your Information

All data is used solely to provide app functionality:

• Location data powers real-time speed display and route mapping.
• Session records populate your history and analytics views.
• Photos are displayed within sessions and included in exported PDF reports.
• Rider profiles personalize sessions and exported reports.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond the features you explicitly use.

3. Location Data

WakeSpeed requests location access to track GPS-based speed and route during active sessions. Location data is:

• Processed entirely on-device in real time.
• Stored locally as part of your session record.
• Never transmitted to our servers or any third party.

You can revoke location access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → WakeSpeed. Revoking access will disable GPS tracking.

4. Photos and Camera

Camera and photo library access is only used when you explicitly choose to add a photo to a session. Photos are stored locally on your device and are never uploaded or shared without your action (e.g. using the in-app share sheet).

5. Contacts

Contacts access is optional and only used when you choose to link a rider profile to a contact. We read only the contact data needed to populate the profile (name and photo). We do not store, sync, or transmit your contacts.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party. The only way data leaves your device is through features you actively use, such as:

• Exporting a session as PDF or GPX and sharing it via the iOS share sheet.
• iCloud backup (governed by Apple's privacy policy).

7. Data Retention and Deletion

All data is stored on your device and under your full control. You can delete individual sessions or rider profiles from within the app. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data.

8. Children's Privacy

WakeSpeed is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available at this URL. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
